BA (Hons) Accounting and Financial Management

The BA (Hons) Accounting and Financial Management is aimed primarily at HND diplomates in Business which have contained elements of accounting and finance who are seeking to top-up their studies to degree level with accounting and finance as their chosen area of expertise. BAAFM will provide for the development of intelectual and cognitive skills that are valuable to graduates in future development.

"Accounting as a degree subject requires students to study how the design, operation and validation of accounting systems affect, and are affected by, individuals, organisations, markets , society and the environment."

 

Programme Structure

The BA (Hons) Accounting and Financial Management programme has been divided into 3 years of study in order to allow students to progress effectively from one level of study to the next. The following structure is adopted:

Upon successful completion of the first ten modules students will be awarded the BTEC Higher National Certificate while upon completion of all sixteen modules students will be awarded the BTEC Higher National Diploma (Edexcel) which will allow them direct entry to the final year of the BA (Hons) Business Management of the University of Sunderland.
